Students and staff took part in the American Cancer Society's Denim Day today. Students wore pink in support. Staff wore pink and made monetary donations to the American Cancer Society. Thank you to Mrs. Gasper for organizing this!!#gowarriors

8th Grade Science students have been working on a metric race car project. They researched the best designs for a car. They are now in the process of making a scale model of their design using metric system measurements. Look for pictures of finished projects next week!

Tonight's cross country meet at Western Dubuque is cancelled. Athletes would be running through standing water and a few turns and hills are very dangerous. It is not anticipated that conditions will improve. Let's hope for drier conditions moving forward.

In October, Iowa celebrates the Healthiest State Month. The Elementary took part in that today. We had planned to go outside, but Mother Nature had other plans. Students and staff walked throughout the school from 2:15-2:45...it was a great way to get a little exercise!!#gowarriors

Student and staff took part in their monthly Warrior Family activity today. Students in preschool through sixth grade were mixed together to build healthy and safe relationships within our school building and across grade levels, build and promote Warrior pride and encourage community involvement within our district.#gowarriors

Football update:
Soph football at North Scott cancelled tonight and rescheduled to tomorrow at 4:30 pending field conditions.
Varsity start pushed to 8:00pm, if can't start before 10pm then the game will be played tomorrow following soph game approx. 6:30pm.

Employment Strategy class - tower building activity. Less education/training equals more restrictions/limitations. Groups randomly drew an education/training level and attempted the tower based on those limitations. Discussion followed on importance of education/training.

Standards Based Grading Meeting:
There will be a meeting about standards based grading on Wednesday, October 2nd from 5-6pm in the Elementary LMC. Parents with students in grades 5-8 are welcome to attend!

The Wheatland Community Blood Drive
