8th grade science students used their engineering skills to design and build a prosthetic leg after learning about the skeletal and muscular systems in class.

The girls golf team just missed moving on by finishing 3rd at Regionals. Addison Luepker placed 4th and will move on to the 2nd round as an individual. Thank you seniors - Isabelle Kerr and Jenna VanderHeiden. Great season girls and good luck to Addison on Monday. #gowarriors

Art Club's last meeting and project was May 8th. Students participated in creating acrylic paintings using a pour method which leads to unique swirl and marbled designs. All the participants took home their paintings. This was a great way to finish the year. #gowarriors


College biology recently finished a project to learn about biological systems and medical procedures where students had to take a developing chicken egg and inject food dye in the right place and correct time to color the chick inside the egg before it hatches. #gowarriors


College Biology finished an animal ethology project and learned about animal imprinting. For this project each student received a newly hatched duckling & kept it for two weeks to try and imprint on them. The final test was to see if the duckling will come to the owner quickly.

Mrs. Bruns’ 5th graders have been working on brochures trying to convince people to move to Iowa! This tied together our persuasive writing standard and our Iowa social studies standard. They also learned how to work more with a brochure template, google docs, and a bibliography.

HS Track Regionals (boys and girls) are postponed to tomorrow, Friday, May 10th, 4:00pm at Central City HS.

#IowaPrideChallenge Calamus-Wheatland STUCO won $500 for basketball scrimmage canned food drive w/ @AlburnettCSD & @DAVWestFalcons. All items donated to the Carroll Assistance Center. Congrats to all communities and students involved with the Pride Challenge!!
