The School Board and administration have long taken a practical and cost-effective approach when it comes to making facility improvements. They have a history of respecting the needs of our property taxpayers. Cal-Wheat’s total levy rate has declined by more than 15% since 2013. We are now asking voters to consider a $7.5 million bond referendum on November 5 that, if approved, would provide the funds needed to address facility challenges in our schools. The proposed tax impact of the bond referendum is $2.70 per $1,000 of taxable property value, which amounts to an additional $14.55 per month on a home assessed at $150,000. On Tuesday, November 5, our communities will consider a $7.5 million bond referendum that, if approved by at least 60% of voters, will provide the funds needed to address facility needs in both communities. If approved by at least 60% of voters, the bond issue would have an estimated tax impact of $2.70 per year on $1,000 of taxable property value. This would amount to $14.55 per month on a home with an assessed value of $150,000. Answers to frequently asked questions and information about the proposal is available at https://www.calwheatbond2024.org.
