Serenity Weston and Sadie Schumann attended the Dorian Orchestra Festival at Luther College on February 4th and 5th. They rehearsed Sunday afternoon and all day Monday, performing a concert on Monday evening under the direction of Dr. Juan Tony Guzman. #gocalwheat #gowarriors

Mrs. Ashley Kelting, Elementary Principal, Favorite Hobby: Spending time with family, traveling and being outside on our farm Years at CW: 11 years Why do you enjoy working at CW?: “I enjoy watching all of our students grow from young children to young adults. I am lucky enough to see our students from their first start at preschool, or even now daycare, until they graduate as a Warrior.”

Mrs. Trinette Richardson, Nutrition Staff, Favorite Hobby: Spending time with my grandchildren Years at CW: 2 years Why do you enjoy working at CW?: “I love interacting with the kids. The girls in the kitchen try to have a positive environment for the kids!!”

Mrs. Lisa Linville, Secondary English, Favorite Hobby: Traveling or anything with my husband and daughters Years at CW: 18 years Favorite CW Memory: “ It's so hard to choose just one favorite memory from my time at Cal-Wheat, but one that immediately comes to mind stems back to my time directing the musicals with Mrs. Kerr. I especially remember a hilarious musical practice when we were working on the show, Willy Wonka. It involved two of the cast members wearing construction harnesses in order to "float" during the Fizzy Lifting Drink scene. Every time they were lifted into the air, they were facing the back curtain instead of the audience. They kept trying their best to swing themselves around while still delivering their lines but to no avail. Mrs. Kerr and I, as well as the whole cast and crew, were laughing so hard we were crying.”

Thank you to Devin Hurdle and Ryan Powers who did Fist Bump Friday at the Elementary today and talked to some HS baseball players. Devin graduated from DeWitt, went to college @ University of Omaha, Nebraska. He was drafted last summer by the Texas Rangers as an infielder. Ryan Powers graduated from Cal-Wheat and went to college @ Wartburg College. He is a member of the Cal-Wheat Hall Fame. He is the hitting coach for the Kansas City Royals. You will find him coaching first base at the Quad City River Bandits this summer.#gowarriors
